“ Wignalls celebrated Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, which is traditionally the feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent – the 40 days leading up to Easter – was traditionally a time of fasting and on Shrove Tuesday, Anglo-Saxon Christians went to confession and were “shriven” (absolved from their sins).
The one day of the year when it’s perfectly acceptable to throw food around the kitchen came to the Wolborough Street, kitchen showroom. The day has long been associated with clearing out your cupboards of things like sugar, fat and eggs, and there was no exception today.
Wignalls Kitchens and Bathrooms have been busy preparing dozens of pancakes for customers, passers by and were even joined by Matt Rogan from the Breeze.
The Neff induction Hob was put to the test whilst the sales team tried their luck, competing with the best flips, all to be filled with a sweet selection of chocolate spread, lemon juice, syrup, blue berries and cream. Coffee, cappuccino and latte’s were all served from the built in Neff coffee machine which much impressed the visitors.
For those not able to attend, you can always call into the showroom for a demonstration of the coffee machine and induction hob at any time. ( just without the pancakes!)
Donations were collected in aid of Rowcroft Hospice”
