The Norwegian company Byggma, a leading Scandinavian supplier of building material systems, manufacture Respatex Bathroom Wall Panels. Available in the UK since 1981, they use a unique system for cladding walls for a variety of rooms.

The unique Aqualock system is a tongue and groove profile similar to that used on laminate flooring, it clicks together holding the joint very tight, its longest side and can be fixed directly to any existing wall surface including ceramic tiles. In addition to bathrooms and wet room areas, Respatex is ideal for kitchens, changing rooms, food preparation areas and shower blocks.

The Respatex easy-to-fit system provides tremendous savings on installation costs when compared to ceramic tiling.

Respatex Wall Panel Sizes and Colours

There are 32 different bathroom wall panel patterns and vibrant colours to choose from, allowing you to create a colour scheme and mood to suit your own bathroom taste.

Product finishes for individual colours are available in silk, gloss, or high gloss were applicable.

The panels are available in three different widths, 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm, all are 2400mm in height and 10.2mm thick. The unique Aqualock Tongue & Groove is available for the 600mm and 900mm width wall panels, the 1200mm width panels are straight edged.

The wall panel designs include Luxury, Classic, Prestige, Traditional and Mosaic to match the style of your existing bathroom fittings. The Traditional and Prestige range are available in all 3 width sizes, 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm.

Installing Respatex Bathroom Wall Panels

Here are a few handy tips when installing the Respatex Bathroom Wall Panels:-

• Before installing the wall panels they must be acclimatised in the room three days prior to fitting.

• In addition to the wall panels you will also need Respatex profiles to cover any raw edges.

• Depending on the size and shape of your room, there is an appropriate shaped profile to fit the panels correctly and securely into place.

• The Respatex profiles come in standard White PVC or Brushed Silver Aluminium.

• There are also colour matched PVC profiles in a range of shapes and colours.

• Combined with the profile, the Aqualock wall panel system makes the installation much easier and gives a consistent and improved end result.

• The wall panels can be attached to battens or glued to walls providing these are sound.

• The wall panels can be cut to size if needed using a fine toothed saw or circular saw/jigsaw placed on a firm or stable table.

• Easy to follow instruction guides are available for reference.

Looking after your Respatex Wall Panels

Once installed, the panels can be simply wiped with a damp cloth or a mild non-abrasive cream cleaner.
